ASCN UK Committee Members Comment on Innovative New Product from Marks & Spencer

Date: 27 August 2024

We are pleased to share that Angie Perrin and Carolyn Swash from the ASCN UK Committee have recently contributed their valuable insights to an impactful article published by Medscape UK. The article, titled “Stoma Knickers Hit the High Street,” discusses Marks and Spencer’s (M&S) new stoma knickers, designed with an internal pocket to support a stoma and keep the bag in place throughout the day and night.

In their comments, Angie and Carolyn highlighted the significance of Marks and Spencer’s collaboration with Colostomy UK in developing this range of underwear to support and enhance individual’s well-being. They emphasised how this innovation is a game-changer in normalising life with a stoma. Marks & Spencer’s new product helps fill a gap in the market, and the ASCN UK hopes it will inspire other brands to follow suit and expand options for stoma patients.

The full article is available on the Medscape UK website, and features feedback from Colostomy UK and Bowel Cancer UK alongside the ASCN UK. Read the article here: https://www.medscape.co.uk/viewarticle/stoma-knickers-hit-high-street-2024a1000f3j
