British Journal of Nursing Awards 2025: Stoma Care Nurse of the Year

The ASCN UK would like to extend a huge congratulations to Kyle Waring, Specialist Stoma Nurse at Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), for being named the Gold Winner of the Stoma Care Nurse of the Year award. We also congratulate the Specialist Nursing Assessment and Prescription Service (SNAPS) Stoma Team at CCICP for winning the Silver award, and Fiona Hayes, Colorectal Nurse Associate at University Hospital Birmingham, for securing the Bronze award.

Kyle Waring and the CCICP Stoma Service were recognised for developing vital new resources to support stoma patients with intimacy and sexual wellbeing. Noticing a significant gap in available guidance, they created patient-centred materials to help individuals navigate changes in intimacy following stoma surgery. These inclusive resources are designed to support a diverse range of patients, including those from LGBTQIA+ communities, ensuring everyone receives the guidance they need.
