Opportunity to Join NHSE Stoma Expert Working Group

NHS England is establishing a Stoma Expert Working Group to support the development of clearer product descriptions and sub-classifications for stoma appliances and additional items. This project is supplementary to, but aligned with, the ongoing Part IX Drug Tariff taxonomy review.

The group will bring together clinical experts and commissioners from each of the seven NHS regions, meeting fortnightly over a three-month period from September 2025. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to a clinically led approach that supports patient choice, assessment, and cost-effective prescribing.

Volunteering for this group is a chance to help shape the future of stoma care and influence national decision-making at a strategic level.
