ASCN UK at GIN Conference

The ASCN UK are looking forward to be in attendance at 13th National Gastrointestinal Nursing Conference, which takes place in London on January 13th.

Our Chair Natasha Rolls, alongside Angie Perrin, will deliver the presentation: Defining and protecting our role in a world of imperfect titles.

This session explores ASCN UK’s work through the Advancing Stoma Care Services project to clarify role definitions for specialist nurses. It outlines efforts to align levels of practice with NMC and RCN frameworks, support self-advocacy around Agenda for Change banding, and strengthen confidence in clinical and professional competencies. The session also highlights challenges created by inconsistent role titles and scopes of practice, and aims to stimulate discussion on taking collective ownership of role definition within stoma care nursing.
